I am imaginelenses

About Me
Hi, I'm Karthik Shivashankaran, a full-stack robotics engineer, computer vision engineer, and the person behind Imaginelenses.
I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Computer Engineering at New York University (NYU Tandon, Class of 2026), and hold a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering. As a 2026 Computer Engineering Graduate, I build at the intersection of hardware and software. My expertise spans sensor fusion, state estimation, motion/path planning, real-time embedded systems, and computer vision pipelines. I have experience writing production-deployed firmware (C/C++) and maintaining 130-star open-source Python tools.
Outside of engineering, I'm a photographer who tries to tell a story in every frame, an avid traveler, and someone who genuinely loves meeting people and hearing what makes their life tick. Adventures are a constant — hiking, rock climbing, river rafting, and a long bucket list that keeps growing.
I'm actively looking for full-time roles as a robotics engineer, computer vision engineer, or motion/path planning engineer. If you're building something interesting, let's talk.

Why Imaginelenses?
Today's pop culture may suggest it's inspired by Imagine Dragons but, no, it's inspired by John Lennon. Deep down we all are mere dreamers and the world we imagine isn't quite what it is. So let's imaginelenses through which we see the world the way we dreamt it to be!
